Flowers

imageFlowers are both a wonderful gift to send for almost any celebration or occasion, and also lovely decoration for any home. Flowers brighten up a room, garden, church hall or hospital ward, and provide a beautiful finishing touch to a display or exhibition. And flowers have also been shown to have a positive effect on emotional well-being, giving a gift of something rewarding to care for or simply cheering yourself up by adding a splash of life and color to your room.

Flowers can not only be quite cheap and easy to buy, but they are also very simple and rewarding to care for. A bouquet of flowers, for example, can be ordered and delivered the same day. On receipt, the owner need simply trim the stems using a knife or scissors and fill a vase with lukewarm water. Many bouquets will come with a small sachet of 'plant food' included, and this should be emptied into the water and mixed up.

Flower arranging is a much-loved hobby of many people, but requires no specialist skills to be done well! Simply arrange your flowers in the vase as you feel is most pleasing to the eye. A mixture of different flowers of different colors and types may require a little longer, but the result is always worth the extra effort.

Stand your vase on any table or window sill, preferably out of direct sunlight and avoiding very hot or very cold areas – and then sit back and enjoy!
